PA Motorcyclist Injured In Crash With Deer: Police

A 30-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a deer in Upper Macungie Township on Wednesday, Oct. 23, according to police.

The motorcyclist, who is from Blandon, Berks County, struck a deer while driving on Route 222 North near its intersection with Grim Road at 6:38 a.m., the Upper Macungie Township Police Department said. 

After hitting the deer, the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle, resulting in "lower extremity injuries and road rash," according to police. He was taken to an undisclosed hospital for his injuries.

Route 222 North was reduced to one lane immediately following the crash and was fully reopened at 7:29 a.m., police said.
